Look! it's Kai on a beach!

"Infrasonic effect on humans" -the Yahoo search that found my website, the Thunder Plinth sculpture to be exact. Above is my stat site's map of the world, with the searchers locale marked in red. It looks like somebody in Cairo might be trying to catch up with the NYPD's technology. Or at least they're curious about it. Here's an intelligent & interesting essay on the subject by way of Cabinet magazine. Infrasound's very peculiar and exciting. I wish the person in Cairo would've written me, I could've (and ever would've) filled thier head with all sorts of stories about infrasonics, each more rediculous than the next.

Hardy notice

David Hardy, Field Display # 2
October 1, 2007 to January 5, 2008
Cadman Plaza, Brooklyn
Image: Photo by William Hampton-Sosa
Description:
David Hardy was thinking about the experience of looking at art when he made Field Display #2. At first glance, the sculpture looks like a familiar structure built to shelter information on a forest trail: a wooden display standing on two boxy legs with a shingled roof. Inside, a claw-footed goblet of unknown origin sits behind glass, and outside, planted in front, are two blue galoshes, empty except for lumps of black sludge. “I was thinking of the movie Repo Man, in which a man just explodes, leaving his boots behind,” says the artist. “I wanted to address the problem of public art and ‘the art experience,’ where the anticipation of the event is often so much more than the event itself. But what if the event itself was the cause of excitement?”
Dave's having a bbq at his sculpture from 1-3 on Saturday. I don't know if you're invited but it's a public park so of course you're invited. See you there!

Martin Prince
The last post was riddled with lies. Martin would never eat eggs for one, and two, he really was tired from all the looking at art over the weekend. Above, we find him enjoying the work of Mike Nelson. And below, a short video of the joys of his first Daniel Rozin mirror.Wednesday, October 03, 2007
Trying to exhaust Martin. and failing
As if art wandering all day wasn't enough to get this guy to go to bed, I had to take him to the roof for some midnight pullups to calm the fire.
And then he made me ill by spending a good chunk of the next day swinging endlessly back and forth, and back and forth, smiling all the way. More coffee?
In the end, some warm milk with a little egg mixed in did the trick. Sleep tight Marty

Voodoo tornado test
A couple recent houseguests from Austria & Germany made this portrait of me. I thought it was pretty dead on, so precisely me that I figured I could throw myself into this tornado to see how I would do. I don't think I made it.
