A Superb Spillway

Thank you Richard for giving me the job of driving the car with the super sunroof, and for not complaining when I slow down to take a quick snap.

speaking too loudly
Yikes, this is disturbing. A pal forwarded this link in what seems to be an uncontrollable need to pass it on. I try to be very patient with big ideas and crazy concepts, but this is way too wrong.

Eagle's Nest
Here's a little bit of footage of me & Pat D from last night at Fritz's pool party. The pool was just short of unridable but was a blast to hang out at. Fritz was making espresso's for us and jamming the raucous rock & roll, all to rid the bowl of "bad art demons" before Fritz installs a sculpture in it for a solo opening this January at Cueto Project. More to come on that, here's this-

Surfing Al-Hadid
I recently emailed with a gentleman by the name of Marc Weidenbaum who writes disquiet.com, he had some questions regarding cameras and photography in general. After looking at his blog it was clear that I didn't have that much to offer. His pictures were already good, but I said what I knew and he was appreciative. Anyways, back to his blog, turns out he's done some posts on Diana and has put together some great insight that I'd like to share. Here's his Al-Hadid posts:
Most recent at Perry Rubenstein
This past summer at Tonya Bonakdar
As he's someone who gravitates toward sound art, he was struck with the sound aspect of Diana's sculptures. Wow, I think they're both geniuses, Marc & Diana. One for making this thing that can resonate at a frequency that we can only see, and the other for noticing. If anyone's familiar with my work, you know that I sometimes plug stuff in to try to create dramatic, often ineffective, effects. I happily got sidetracked to this very thing that's got Marc's attention, that visual noise and what I've often referred to as "implied kinetics". More fun, less frustrating, and I can install in a flash. Thanks Marc, Thanks Diana, and most of all, Thank you Stu, for hamming it up when I need it.

Ween'n

So I'm gearing up for the crossword puzzle on the train ride north when I see that Ween's got a review. I thought that was fascinating, me liking both the band, and the crossword. Don't look too hard, I screwed up and put tern down as an arctic floater. It's berg.
Anyhoo, I thought that it would make a nice segued to meeting up with Frank & Michelle to see Ween play at Terminal 5 last Friday night.

The following year I met Vein in Cincinnati, Ohio, thanks to some friends of his who recognized me from his site. He's a real nice guy from Indiana. Anyways, freaky internet stories aside, this show here was awesome. It was the first Ween show I've ever been to that I didn't take a crack at creating a good, non-violent circle pit, even for the slowest of the slow dirges. It's a calling, what can I say, and the forum thanks me for holding back. So I posted up on the 3rd story rail and watched. Here's some of what I saw, with some videos at the end.
